4 Black Friday Myths Every Online Entrepreneur Should Ignore

I've heard some outrageous myths about Black Friday and why online entrepreneurs should not offer sales and or discounts during the year's busy shopping event. Experts have already projected online sales from the 2021 Black Friday weekend to be in the area of 11 Billion Dollars.

And of course, I can not have you walking around here, believing the foolishness and missing any of that money.

Here are four outrageous myths I've heard about Black Friday and online entrepreneurs and I have debunked every last one.

Myth # 1

Online entrepreneurs should focus on Small Business Saturday and not Black Friday.

Not sure who started this myth, but let me try and clear this up.

American Express founded Small Business Saturday in 2010; it is a day dedicated to supporting small businesses and communities across the country.

Small Business Saturday was not created as online businesses.

Myth # 2

Black Friday is only for large retail brands like Target and Walmart or businesses with a large marketing budget.

Yes, larger retailers benefit from Black Friday sales, but that doesn’t mean online entrepreneurs have to take a back seat.

I don’t know about you, but I receive deals from my favorite brands during the Black Friday season, both larger and small. Don’t allow the size of your business to determine your success.

In recent years social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram have made it easier for online and offline businesses with small budgets to get their services and products in front of more people.

Myth #3

I can't take advantage of Black Friday because I offer one-on-one services.

Being a coach, consultant, or service-based business does not exempt you from offering Black Friday deals. However, you will have to get a little creative in doing so.

If you are a coach or consultant coaching maybe consider one of the following:

Small-Group Coaching Session

Some people are considering working with you one on one, but they are on the fence. Opening up a group coaching opportunity will allow them to see you in action while lowering their risk.

Voxer Coaching/Consulting

Imagine how many people would like to pick your brain.

Consider adding Voxer Coaching sessions as another way for people to test out the waters before they jump all the way in.

Package some of your previously recorded webinars and or training and sell them as a bundle with Voxer as a way to answer any questions they may have.

Myth #4

I offer high-end services, so Black Friday is not for me.

I’ve seen this myth floating around for years, and guess what; I invested in my first high-end mastermind in 2018 during Black Friday.

She didn’t lower the mastermind investment. It was $7,000 but what she did do was bundle it with a few of your courses to make it well worth it.

As you can see, anyone with an online business can take full advantage of Black Friday.

It just takes a little creativity and work on your part to make it happen.

Do you already have a plan for Black Friday?

I would love to hear it. Feel free to share them below.
